Eco-Friendly Make-UpToday, there are many of us living the eco-friendly lifestyle. We consciously choose products that all natural, pure and free of toxins. But do we extend this desire to our make-up, skin care and our over all personal care products?

You may be thinking that there isn’t that much out there on the market for those items in an eco-friendly product. But surprising, we have found that there are quite a few companies that are manufacturing all natural, pure and toxin free products for our make-up, skin care and personal care items.

Just Because It Says It Doesn’t Mean It Is

Sadly, there too may unscrupulous companies out there that are labeling their products as “all natural” and “organic” when in fact, they aren’t.  All you need to do is read the label and you’ll find that out. In fact, many of them contain contentious chemicals.

So How Can You Find Eco-Friendly Makeup?

First, you need to get educated. Take the time to learn what ingredients you shouldn’t be using and if they are regulated in this country by the government. If your favorite mascara has an ingredient that is banned in this country, do you really want it around your eyes?

Second, you have to be responsible for you, so think for yourself. If you do research and find that certain ingredients that are used in your favorite foundation or power may be toxic and you can’t find anything that negates that, find a new product. Simply because thorough research hasn’t been done by the make-up companies doesn’t mean its eco-friendly or safe for you.

Third, take the initiative, be proactive and if you aren’t finding anything out on the internet, call the manufacturer. If they have research, they’ll be glad to share it with you. No company wants their name associated with toxic ingredients.

Last but not least, you may have to try several different brands of eco-friendly make-up, skin care and other personal products. We all have our likes and dislikes, and what works for your friend may not work for you. But be open minded to trying new things and you may find they are better than what you have been using.
